METEOR missile successfully fired from Gripen E

First live firing with Meteor air-to-air guided missile from a Gripen E fighter.

Saab has successfully and for the first time fired a Meteor missile from a Gripen E above the Vidsel test site in northern Sweden at an altitude of around 16.500 ft. The intended target was precisely hit.

MBDA´s Meteor is a long-range radar-guided air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) capable of engaging a wide variety of targets, from fighter aircrafts to small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and cruise missiles.

The Meteor program is one of Europe´s most successful defense collaborations, bringing together the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden. Saab is a key partner in the Meteor program along with prime contractor MBDA-UK.

The RF-transmitter (series TS900), used for live telemetry data transmission from this Meteor guided missile to the ground station was supplied by STT.
