Progress MS-08 successfully launched

Progress MS-08 is on its way to the ISS

The cargo spacecraft Progress MS-08 was successfully launched on February 13, 2018 at 09:13 CET from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan after a 48-hour delay onboard a Russian Soyuz 2-1a rocket and is currently on its way to the international space station (ISS).

The docking of the cargo spacecraft at the aft port of the Zvezda Service Module of the ISS is scheduled for February 15, 2018 at 11:43 CET.

On board the Progress MS-08 is the transmitting unit of the animal observation system ICARUS („International Cooperation for Animal Research Using Space”) – the most technically advanced project for global animal observation from space.

STT has developed and delivered the ICARUS-transmitter. It is expected to be installed outside the ISS probably in June, 2018 together with the antenna.
